Beyondly Expands Policy Influence and Packaging EPR Capabilities
Beyondly Global Limited, a leading B Corp-certified environmental compliance scheme and sustainability consultancy, has taken a significant step in reinforcing its leadership in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) support with the appointment of a new Director of Policy and Public Affairs and the continued advancements of its packaging data systems. This continued progression compliments their legacy, to fill a gap in the market for a customer-centric environmental compliance and consultancy.
As regulatory pressures on producers continue to intensify across the UK and internationally, Beyondly remains established in the industry, acting as an environmental partner guiding brands through complex environmental obligations.
In Summer 2025, Alex Hilton joined Beyondly as Director of Policy and Public Affairs, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in government, environmental governance, and sustainability leadership.
Alex previously held senior roles including Head of Governance and Government Relations at PackUK, where he played a pivotal role in developing the Recyclability Assessment Methodology (RAM), a standardised tool that helps producers evaluate the recyclability of their packaging under new EPR requirements. Prior to that, he served as Head of Sustainability at HMRC, advising on environmental tax policy, including the Plastic Packaging Tax, and crafting net-zero strategies for government operations.
Alex is a Fellow of ISEP, a certified ESOS Assessor, Low Carbon Consultant, and former ISO14001 auditor, bringing deep technical expertise to Beyondly’s leadership team.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to join Beyondly and build on their extensive expertise,” said Hilton. “I’m especially looking forward to supporting Beyondly’s customers, helping them have a more powerful voice and drive real, meaningful impact through policy and innovation. Over the coming months, Beyondly will attend key packaging events and the full team look forward to sparking conversations with other industry professionals.”
Beyondly provide packaging EPR services, complete with first-class customer service, an evolving data management and submission platform, and policy insights content, playing a critical and effective role in helping brands manage their EPR responsibility. Built for efficiency, flexibility, and producer needs at its core, the offering enables accurate data handling and a user-friendly interface to support ongoing regulatory demands in the Recycling Assessment Methodology (RAM).
Following the launch of the RAM framework by PackUK, Beyondly has further enhanced its platform to integrate recyclability assessments and support a more holistic view of packaging impact and compliance readiness. These advancements ensure that brands working with Beyondly are not only compliant but also equipped with actionable insights to improve packaging sustainability over time. Beyondly’s sustainability offerings compliment the advancing requirements with experts across packaging sustainability, product carbon footprints, and life cycle assessments.
This combination of strategic policy influence and robust data infrastructure positions Beyondly as a leading partner for producers navigating EPR and beyond.
Formerly known as Comply Direct, Beyondly rebranded in 2023 to reflect its bold, purpose-led vision of going beyond compliance. As a certified B Corporation, the company is committed to balancing profit with people and the planet, putting environmental and societal outcomes at the heart of its services. Beyondly’s unwavering commitment to continually striving for a better way has been the key to company growth and will remain as part of the brand’s legacy.
This latest appointment and platform development mark another major stride in Beyondly’s journey to empower brands with the tools, knowledge, and influence they need to not just meet obligations, but to also lead on sustainability.
