Already working with Beyondly for Packaging EPR, in early 2025, FDD International engaged with Beyondly through their bespoke Navigate service to begin their sustainability journey in a structured and strategic manner. This marked the beginning of a close working relationship aimed at driving measurable environmental improvements across their operations.
The Opportunity
FDD International approached Beyondly with a clear goal: to gain practical clarity on sustainability and develop a roadmap for positive environmental impact.
Their challenges focussed on carbon emissions reduction, navigating environmental legislation, resolving packaging compliance and Plastic Packaging Tax partner issues, and improving supply chain sustainability data. They needed guidance to cut through the complexity and build a practical, actionable plan that aligned with their strategic goals.
The Solution
The Beyondly team, led by Liz Wood, Head of Sustainability & Principal Consultant, and Chris Smith, Lead Consultant – Resource Efficiency & Circularity, delivered a tailored half-day Navigate session for FDD International’s senior leadership team. The session was designed to:

- Map relevant legislation to FDD’s business model using a SWOT framework.
- Identify solutions to current compliance challenges and assess suitable partners for packaging and Plastic Packaging Tax obligations.
- Highlight areas for improving supplier engagement and supply chain data quality.
Throughout the session, we focused on translating high-level sustainability strategy into operational actions. The Navigate session served as both a diagnostic and a springboard, helping the FDD team prioritise actions based on what was most critical for their business.

Beyondly and FDD International are now in partnership on Packaging EPR compliance, Plastic Packaging Tax, as well as bespoke sustainability strategy.
