Beyondly plant hundreds of trees for Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust
Volunteers from Beyondly help local charity Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) tackle climate change by planting hundreds of trees in Grassington, North Yorkshire
We encourage all employees to take part in a half day volunteering activity each year to have the opportunity to support our local community. Yesterday (28 November 2019), a few members of the team contributed to the planting of 600 trees in Grassington supporting the work of YDMT, helping to restore woodlands in the Dales, combat climate change and support biodiversity.
Michael Devlin, Development Manager at YDMT, expressed his thanks for our support and said:
“It was great to see the team out yesterday getting stuck in! We planted 600 trees over the day, which is a fantastic effort and will ensure that our wood up at Grassington will continue to thrive despite Ash-die back. Please do pass on my thanks to the team, it is great to have them involved. We are planting 30,000 trees this winter across the Dales to help tackle climate change and we simply could not do it without your help.”
Here is the team in action!
The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust work to conserve and restore the habitats and wildlife which the spectacular and distinctive Yorkshire Dales landscape supports. They also help to protect the unique natural and built features of the Dales landscape – from limestone caves to hay barns and dry-stone walls.
Beyondly aim to constantly give back to society. Employees are actively encouraged to divide their time between workplace duties and supporting Beyondly's nominated charities by volunteering and fundraising. We have supported and fundraised for Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust multiple times over the years, including via woodland restoration volunteering and raising money by completing challenging sporting events.
