Environment Agency release the verified recycling data for Q3 2021
On Friday 26 November, the Environment Agency released the verified recycling data for Q3 2021
There has been minor changes to the initial progress we saw upon the original unverified data released in October. The main point to note is as per the unverified data, that glass is the material remaining under most pressure and recycling rates need to increase on Q4, otherwise last year's carry in glass PRNs will need to be used to hit its target. Subsequently, this puts pressure on 2022 markets, driving higher prices already.
On the other hand, plastic has improved a bit on recent figures meaning pressure in this market is now starting to dissipate, along with the other materials which appear to be sailing towards target.
